Yesterday the website www.dnevnik.hr posted some comments on the Croatian Tourist Boards websites, where among a dozen tourism websites there was an excellent review on our Tourist Board website.

Besides praise for the use of social networks, it was specifically pointed out that our website is at the same level as those of world’s tourism capitals when it comes to the offer of Dubrovnik Card, possibility to download mobile applications, but also due to the headings such as “Dubrovnik for …” which contain tips on how to spend your holiday in Dubrovnik in the spring, summer, autumn or for just three days.
The Dubrovnik Tourist Board new website was launched in 2010 and at the end of 2011 besides Croatian and English version it was translated into five additional languages, including Japanese.
Only over the last month, from June 19 to July 19 there were 32 988 new visits to the Dubrovnik Tourist Board website i.e. 75% of visitors surfed it for the first time. On average they viewed 5.4 sites and stayed on the Dubrovnik Tourist Board website for about 3.25 minutes.
We have to point out that in early 2012 one of the major Internet portals in the U.S.A. Huffington Post, based on data from the tourism site Uptake founded by Yen Lee – ranked Dubrovnik as the second top destination chosen by Face book users. Lee came up with interesting data by analysing over 200 million comments, statuses, photo descriptions and check-ins of over ten thousand Face book users that also used his site. This is a great proof of quality of Dubrovnik’s on-line promotion.
